Dagney's Spicy Halloween

Dagney had a great 1st Halloween! Josh took a few hours off this morning to bring our little Chile Pepper to my school where she was swooned over by everyone I work with. Aunt Kara and I were dressed as Salt and Pepper so, of course, we had to refer to ourselves as the Spice Girls. Then in the evening Auntie Janelle and Uncle Dave brought their little Monkey over to Trick-or-Treat and pose for the camera.

Elementary school kids prefer Salt to Pepper 3 to 1 (sorry Kara) but NOTHING beats the cutest little Chile Pepper!
Daddy and Baby enjoyed their visit, and Mommy couldn't have been more proud to show them off.

One happy pair.

Wow are they cute!

....and a pair of sexy mommys (check out the hot candy corn pants to the left).

Happy Halloween!

Much-Needed Drooly Baby Smiles

Here are a few pictures that I took this evening of our little ray of sunshine - I can't believe she's 5 months old already! She is now able to get her knees under her hips to propel forward, she loves sweet potatoes and carrots (but definitely not peas) and she enjoys shrieking as loudly as possible for play (and as our neighbors down the road could probably attest to, has gotten quite good at it).

Weekend Recap

Saturday Dagney and I headed to Ohma and Ohpa's house for the day. She got to play with her wonderful big cousin Lauren and Ohma couldn't wait to fill her tummy with some delicious rice cereal. Josh and I had a nice quiet Saturday night snuggling when the baby went to bed (after her first try at carrots, which she loved). Sunday morning we had turkey omelets with the Craft family - Janelle's brother and family have been here from Seattle for the week - sorry, no pics! And to top off our busy weekend Jenny (now 29 1/2 weeks pregnant) and Mike came over to hang out, have birthday cake (Jenny's birthday was yesterday and mine is tomorrow), and watch some football.

Baby's First Meal

Josh and I decided to feed Dagney for the first time this evening! After a few days of her scarfing down her bottles, we felt she might need a little extra in her tummy - she's a very active little baby. As you can see from the pictures all three of us enjoyed the experience...Dagney loved the cereal in her mouth, on her face and all over her hands!

Like Father Like Daughter

Despite numerous warnings from his sister and official-looking website documents, Josh refused to throw away his beloved blue block.

Silly Daddy!

A Cherry Delicious Bum

Today Dagney and I went to Ohma and Ohpa's house and had a full day. My Aunt Elizabeth came over and got to meet Dagney (who for the first time cried when passed to a "stranger"...but she warmed up to her pretty quickly). Then we went to the German mass at Holy Trinity Church where we met Brenda and Lauren. Dagney's Gotta enjoyed holding her throughout the service and Dagney could hardly take her eyes off of her big cousin Lauren. Father Antonio even blessed the baby when we went up for Communion. We got lots of "Isn't she a good baby!" comments after the mass. Then we visited Grammy's grave site for a bit and headed back to Ohma and Ohpa's for a nap (just Dagney) and my mom's homemade Pot-Cheese Noodles (egg noodles with cottage cheese - yum! - one of my favorites growing up). We're ending the night together with Daddy...and practicing rolling on the floor in our cherry-but pants.

I'm a Big Girl Now (Sort of)

Dagney enjoys holding her bottle while being fed, and this evening decided to show off to Daddy by taking over.

Here she is showing off her "Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner" onesie...a gift from her big cousin Emmet, who knows she has a crush on Swayze. Thanks cous!! We miss you -
