Pumpkins, Gourds and Squash

So finally the stars aligned and we headed out to the pumpkin patch this afternoon. Although we made it out, it was bitterly cold and breezy, not what we had become accustomed to as of late. Regardless, Dagney and Paige were excited to show off their hand-knitted pumpkin hats from Aunt Jessie!
Dagney got to see goats, pigs, chickens and a cow, however her favorite was the goats. Be careful Dagney, that goat may lick your hand.

"He did, he did!"
And Paige was as pleasant as ever as she thoroughly enjoyed her pumpkin hat on this cold and breezy day.
Here Dad tries to articulate how this may not be the best pumpkin to turn into a jack-o-lantern because it may be a bit small.

Now I am not trying to put any pressure on a certain Aunt, but my girls are crying their eyes out with envy over these pumpkin hats. I told them the hats just won't work in 100 degree heat, so get over it already, but you know how Maddie can turn on those tears.

Just kidding, of course, Jessie. Jenn, those girls are adorable! Wish we were there in that cool weather!

I really didn't do the hats justice as the coolest aspect of the hats are the stem and leave at the top. You have to look closely at the pictures to get a look at them.
