See this list here....

“HELLO PEOPLE! It is 13 days until my birthday and I am expecting to pull in a bounty of gifts! I have this here long list of desirable toys and don’t be bashful about picking two, three or even four gifts off the list. There are a plenty of options such as anything chewable, interactive books, anything from Lamaze, old cell phones (that still light up and beep), an Adrian Peterson Viking jersey (size XXL, preferably white) or a new singing and dancing doll which I can dance along with."

"Oh lord, but what is this! My first birthday gift and it is from the Hitchcock family!"

"Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational blog station"

Dagney the Gozerian

It was a warm spring morning at the Bunkers' house and all were soundly asleep. Josh dreamed of the luscious green grass now sprouting at the local Farmstead Golf Course and the inevitable pleasure of shaving 'unnecessary' practice strokes associated with returning to the links after a winter of inactivity. Jenn anxiously awaited what new gossip would decorate the ever so popular headlines of Star Magazine; possibly another Britney meltdown or if the winds blew just right, another guest appearance by Tom Cruise on the Oprah Winfrey show! It was shaping up to be another wonderful day at the Bunkers' house.

Or was it?

6:00 AM came quicker than usual and as we sprang from our bed to comfort the soft little murmurs of little Lulli-Cakes, we were awoken by a strange though familiar quote from the 1984 hit movie, Ghostbusters!

"I AM DAGNEY THE GOZERIAN, CHOOSE YOUR DESTRUCTOR"

Just like any other morning, the first thing to pop into our minds is our little Lulli-Cakes. And upon pulling Dagney out of Grandpa's crib and changing her diaper, it was not long before our quaint and well organized family room felt the wrath of Dagney...AKA Dagney the Destructor!!!!

It is no secret, one of Dagney's pet peves is a well organized play room. After her morning bottle and first diaper change her first order of business is un-organizing her playroom. And of course Daddy and Mommy's last order of business for the day is organizing the playroom.

The Second Annual NFL Draft Party

Rick and Todd visited for our second annual NFL Draft Party. Dagney could hardly contain her joy and optimism, wondering what football prospect the Minnesota Vikings would select this year. The Vikings set the bar high last year after the selection of Adrian Peterson, who turned out to be the Rookie of the Year. But Dagney and I knew there was work to be done, so we dashed off to the liquor store to hand pick our favorite beverages. Low and behold, I quickly realized Dagney is quite the snootie-tootie beer snob.

We strolled through the imported Italian wine aisle, but Dagney was not impressed and mumbled under her breath, "Pee-pee"

And as we strolled through the California wines, I got the same ornery response, 'pee-pee', 'pee-pee', 'pee-pee'.

Clearly Dagney was not impressed with wine, so we headed to the beer section. Miller Lite, "NO". Budweiser, "NO". Harps, "Seriously?". My enthusiasm began to wane as it was clear Dagney was not impressed with any of the beverages I was presenting to her.

Then suddenly Dagney smiled, pointed her fingers and began to jump up and down in the shopping cart! We finally found Dagney's drink of choice and I must say I think she was just trying to impress her Canadian boyfriend.

Spring Barbecue

On Saturday the Craft family joined us for a barbecue and good times. Janelle brought over an awesome artichoke dip and chocolate cake and Josh grilled some steaks. While the parents got to hang out the babies got to play, which is always fun for us parents to watch because we've definitely seen them react to each other differently over time. Dagney was definitely protective over her toys at first and would snatch things out of Cole's hands (even swat his own binky out of his mouth when she wanted it) - but now Cole has learned her game and isn't letting her get away with it as much.
Dagney can definitely move!

"Hey Cole, look at what I can grab onto!!"

Chicken anyone?

The tile-topped table was a hit with the babies because of the noise it makes when it's pounded by little hands.

Cole opens up a gift from us...his first toy truck.

Dagney, of course, offers Cole a hand.

Spring Cleaning!

Here are some pictures I took of the baby having fun with Ohma and me at bathtime. We're still using the sink because there's no way I could manage helping her in the tub with this huge belly of mine! Every week Ohma has been coming over on Thursday nights and watching the baby all day Friday. I was going to write about how Ohma does this to help me, but as I sit here and think about it, that's not truly accurate. The further I get into this pregnancy the harder it is for me to do a lot of things, and having a 10-month-old makes it especially challenging. Josh has taken over most of the baby duties, from getting her ready in the morning while I concentrate on trying to get myself ready for work, to taking her on food shopping trips and keeping our house tidy on a daily basis. So when Ohma comes on Thursday night and takes care of the baby through Friday night it really gives Josh the opportunity to take a breather and just have fun playing with Dagney. We are both so grateful for all that Ohma does for our family!
In other news, May 9th will be my last day of work - I officially go on maternity leave and am excited to have a few weeks with Dagney before Baby Bunks #2 arrives (then again I wouldn't necessarily mind if the baby came a bit earlier than her due date). Dagney has been doing great. She loves to "talk" and has been testing the limits of her voice by happily screaming and screeching. She can say "Ba, Na, Ga, Da, Ma" and she constantly points to objects so we'll tell her what they are...she particularly loves the pictures of our family over the couch. And in the past few days she's been exploring finger foods and feeding herself - she has finally developed the pincer grasp that mommy has been waiting for!
