Halloween 2008

For Paige's first Halloween, just as her birthday on May 27, she brought us sunshine again as she dressed up as a Sunflower!

"Are you kidding me? I'm dressed up as what??"

Dagney was so impressed with the Goats during Pumpkin picking, we thought it appropriate she dress up as one this year, so here is "Dagney the Goat!"

And of course our adopted son Cole! Janelle and Dave dressed Cole up in an authentic Don Cherry costume!
The highlight of trick or treating was a scary house up on the hill. There were animated tombstones, scary music and an automated evil talking witch from the Wizard of Oz on the porch. Dad was actually a little timid about approaching the house but Dagney proceeded to go stomping through the yard!

"So until next year, Happy Halloween my fellow ghouls and witches!"

Dagney and Paige

Paige loves swinging in the baby swing and watching her big sister always makes her smile.
Dagney likes to make Paige laugh by gently pushing her in the swing.

Who made the cookies in the cookie jar?

"Dagney did, Dagney did!"
Dagney broke the eggs...

Dagney stirred in the flour...

Dagney even tasted the cookies...

"Mmmm, sweet nectar of the Gods!"

Pumpkins, Gourds and Squash

So finally the stars aligned and we headed out to the pumpkin patch this afternoon. Although we made it out, it was bitterly cold and breezy, not what we had become accustomed to as of late. Regardless, Dagney and Paige were excited to show off their hand-knitted pumpkin hats from Aunt Jessie!
Dagney got to see goats, pigs, chickens and a cow, however her favorite was the goats. Be careful Dagney, that goat may lick your hand.

"He did, he did!"
And Paige was as pleasant as ever as she thoroughly enjoyed her pumpkin hat on this cold and breezy day.
Here Dad tries to articulate how this may not be the best pumpkin to turn into a jack-o-lantern because it may be a bit small.

Happy Birthday Mom!

As usual, Dagney was excited to see Dad come home from work. Dad quickly gave Dagney Mom's birthday card from her and Paige and could not wait to give the card to Mom.
I could have sworn Dagney said "Happy Birthday Mom!", but an argument could be made for "ba-ba-ba" or "nana".

Here is the birthday Mom and her two daughters blowing out candles and eating cake!

"YUMMY!"
And a final picture of Mom showing off her new bootie, a super blow-vac thingy she got from Grandma Connie.

Grandma and Dagney at the Park

Grandma arrived last night and neither her nor Dagney could wait to head to the park Saturday morning. Dagney thoroughly enjoyed getting pushed on the swing by Grandma.
It wasn't long until Dagney wanted to show Grandma how she could climb to the top of the 13-foot slide all by herself and swoosh down the other side. Not only was Grandma impressed with her independence, ability to climb and slide down on her own, but how amibitious she was doing it over and over and over again.

That is a long way down...

Here we go!!!

Apple Picking with the Boys!!!!

About two weeks ago Dagney went apple picking with the boys of Stonehill. Frankie loves pulling the wagon, Dagney loves riding in the wagon and Cole is always happy to participate in any activities available.
Dagney scouring the orchard floor for that perfect apple.

Here it is!

Yummie! Nothing beats a fresh apple!
