Home Sweet Home

We safely arrived home today and Dagney was very curious to see who was in her old Pack-n-Play. Low and behold it was a new sister!

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

And there she is, the newest addition to the family, Paige Anne Bunkers

Baby Bunks #2

Tomorrow is the big day as Jenn and I will be heading to St. Claire's Hospital in Denville, NJ to welcome Baby Bunks #2 to the World. We cannot wait for her arrival! Estimated time arrival, 10:00 AM Eastern.

"Hello World!"

Like Father Like Daughter

For 34 years of my life I have had to endure the ludicrous story of how I (Josh) would walk around and lick trashcans when I was little. Clearly, these stories are completely crazy as they were simply impossible to believe. My mother and father would embellish these trashcan licking stories despite my astute memory in which I recall licking a grand total of 0 trashcans. 0 trashcans. However, yesterday morning I was enjoying my morning television programs and realized Dagney was suspiciously quiet. It was that eerie quiet in which you suspect your one-year old child must be up to no good. I walked into the kitchen and to my astonishment, "DAGNEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

"What, who me?"

More Generous Gifts

Because Dagney is only a year old, we decided to open one or two gifts a night. Here are some of the special moments over the past week!

Dagney got a beautiful orange dress with matching orange leggings from Uncle Les and Aunt Sandy.

Uncle Kent, Aunt Jenny, Cousin Maddie and Cousin Sophie got Dagney I wonderful pink dress, a pink halter top and a pair of pink hot pants. We got this cute picture of her posing for mommy.

Uncle Adam, Aunt Jessie and cousin Emmet got Dagney this ultra-cool gear toy. It did not take Dagney long to figure out how to push the button and watch the gears twist about!

Uncle Jake and Aunt Kara got Dagney a cute fishing toy with some magnetic fish and and a magnet fishing pole! Dagney loves tasting the fish.

Uncle Jake and Aunt Kara also included this cute blue dress, but it was just a little too small for Daddy. Daddy was quick to point out he is working out so the dress may fit next year.

Marriage?

Let me say, getting married to my wonderful wife has been the greatest treasure I could ever hope for. Okay, so maybe my wife is now full term and I just want to make her laugh and smile. Now that we have a child, our family and love continue to grow as we expect a second baby girl in the next 30 days. My how time flies and things change. It seems like yesterday my wife and I got married at the Waterloo Village.

So are we still having fun? Of course, now we take goofy pictures while standing behind some painted wood cut-outs. Having fun is just the type of therapy needed when it comes to raising kids.
We hope all our family and friends are enjoying life as much as we are!

Happy Mother"s Day!

We were so excited that Grandma Connie came to visit us this weekend for Mother's Day. We all went to brunch at a local restaurant to celebrate the holiday with the Craft family. Dagney got to try watermelon and cantaloupe for the first time (loving both) and all the Mommies (and Grand-Mommy) got to kick back while the men watched the babies. Cole was a bit tired, but hung in there for all but 10 minutes of our 2 hour stay. A great first Mother's Day!

Where's my food Daddy?

Our first Mother's Day!

Our happy family.

Finally - my food!

Dagney and her hero...Daddy

Not sure what all the hub-bub is about...

Dagney loves when Daddy turns her upside-down.

All the moms.

Cole finally falls asleep - right before we leave, of course.

Our great friends Dave and Janelle.

More, Please!

Its been about a month since Dagney first learned the sign for "more" and I finally got a picture of it for the blog (I'm so excited for her Aunt Kara to see!). It's her own rendition, of course, but we know what she's saying! Whether she wants more tickles from Daddy or more banana chunks, communicating with your 11 month old is an amazing thing...and she tends to amaze Josh and I each and every day. I'm sure you have all noticed that Josh has been doing all of the blogging lately - and doing a great job, I might add. I've been feeling the effects of being in the stages of late pregnancy and by the end of the day I need to put my feet up. Thankfully yesterday was my last day of work and I get to spend the next few weeks at home with Dagney as we await her little sister. Emotionally, life just couldn't feel any better than it does right now.

BFFs

Jenn Bunkers and Jennifer Keller...Grace Keller and Dagney Bunkers...we're all BFFs when it comes to the Kellers and we were so happy to have them over as guests.

Obviously the highlight of the weekend was getting to see Grace! She is as beautiful as Jennifer had described and we were all so excited to get to spend some time with the two of them. We can hope for them to return or possibly escape down to the Kellers to see what outstanding home improvements Mike has surely made.

Was there any doubt that Jennifer Keller would be one of the Greatest Moms of all time? We wish her the best this coming special weekend, she certainly deserves it!

See this list here....

“HELLO PEOPLE! It is 13 days until my birthday and I am expecting to pull in a bounty of gifts! I have this here long list of desirable toys and don’t be bashful about picking two, three or even four gifts off the list. There are a plenty of options such as anything chewable, interactive books, anything from Lamaze, old cell phones (that still light up and beep), an Adrian Peterson Viking jersey (size XXL, preferably white) or a new singing and dancing doll which I can dance along with."

"Oh lord, but what is this! My first birthday gift and it is from the Hitchcock family!"

"Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational blog station"

Dagney the Gozerian

It was a warm spring morning at the Bunkers' house and all were soundly asleep. Josh dreamed of the luscious green grass now sprouting at the local Farmstead Golf Course and the inevitable pleasure of shaving 'unnecessary' practice strokes associated with returning to the links after a winter of inactivity. Jenn anxiously awaited what new gossip would decorate the ever so popular headlines of Star Magazine; possibly another Britney meltdown or if the winds blew just right, another guest appearance by Tom Cruise on the Oprah Winfrey show! It was shaping up to be another wonderful day at the Bunkers' house.

Or was it?

6:00 AM came quicker than usual and as we sprang from our bed to comfort the soft little murmurs of little Lulli-Cakes, we were awoken by a strange though familiar quote from the 1984 hit movie, Ghostbusters!

"I AM DAGNEY THE GOZERIAN, CHOOSE YOUR DESTRUCTOR"

Just like any other morning, the first thing to pop into our minds is our little Lulli-Cakes. And upon pulling Dagney out of Grandpa's crib and changing her diaper, it was not long before our quaint and well organized family room felt the wrath of Dagney...AKA Dagney the Destructor!!!!

It is no secret, one of Dagney's pet peves is a well organized play room. After her morning bottle and first diaper change her first order of business is un-organizing her playroom. And of course Daddy and Mommy's last order of business for the day is organizing the playroom.

The Second Annual NFL Draft Party

Rick and Todd visited for our second annual NFL Draft Party. Dagney could hardly contain her joy and optimism, wondering what football prospect the Minnesota Vikings would select this year. The Vikings set the bar high last year after the selection of Adrian Peterson, who turned out to be the Rookie of the Year. But Dagney and I knew there was work to be done, so we dashed off to the liquor store to hand pick our favorite beverages. Low and behold, I quickly realized Dagney is quite the snootie-tootie beer snob.

We strolled through the imported Italian wine aisle, but Dagney was not impressed and mumbled under her breath, "Pee-pee"

And as we strolled through the California wines, I got the same ornery response, 'pee-pee', 'pee-pee', 'pee-pee'.

Clearly Dagney was not impressed with wine, so we headed to the beer section. Miller Lite, "NO". Budweiser, "NO". Harps, "Seriously?". My enthusiasm began to wane as it was clear Dagney was not impressed with any of the beverages I was presenting to her.

Then suddenly Dagney smiled, pointed her fingers and began to jump up and down in the shopping cart! We finally found Dagney's drink of choice and I must say I think she was just trying to impress her Canadian boyfriend.
