Yummy Yummy

We had a nice, cool morning - just right for making some Rice Krispie Treats! Dagney had a great time measuring the krispies and counting as she poured each cup into the bowl.

Paigey and Her Antics

Getting Ready for Lily

We are busy here at the Bunkers house preparing for Lily's arrival. Her bedding from Grandma Connie arrived earlier this week along with a matching diaper stacker and nightlight from Aunt Jessie and Aunt Jenny. But no pictures until the nursery is done, which most likely won't be until sometime after her birth. Also preparing for her little sister's arrival is Paige who is determined to learn how to change a diaper, as seen here during one of our training sessions. Boy could mommy use some help!

Where's Joshie?

My sister-in-law Jessie sent me this oldie but goodie from a Bunkers/Hennings family Christmas. Jessie is on the bottom left and my other sister-in-law Jenny is next to her. Now take a close look...can you spot Josh???

Extra! Extra!

I thought it would be nice to give everyone a little update of all the goings-on at the Bunkers house!
  • Paige and Dagney are now "roomies"...they've been sharing Dagney's big girl room for about a week now. Josh and I enjoy listening to them giggle with each other before they fall asleep at night. The biggest problem has been when they nap at the same time, because often the giggling doesn't end...
  • Paige is our little talker - her repertoire includes "mama, dada, ball, car, juicey, duckie (which is basically her word for anything she doesn't know the actual word to), ba-ba (for bottle), doggie, kitty, up and cookie". She likes pulling her sister's hair to get a reaction, can wave bye-bye and likes to put her finger up to her mouth and say "shhh shhh".
  • Dagney knows all of the primary colors + pink and aqua (her two favorites). She loves to sing the alphabet song, twinkle twinkle little star and count to 10 with some help. The Wiggles are all the rage in our household and she especially loves the "Ponies" song, where she dances and swishes her "tail".
  • Paige seems to be on the verge of trying to take a few steps independently - we'll keep you posted!!
  • Mommy only has 50 more days until her c-section, which she is anxiously awaiting! It's not easy being pregnant with two toddlers to take care of, but she's hanging in there and gets a lot of support, especially from her awesome hubby :)
  • Josh is enjoying working in the city, especially his commute via bus. Even though it's a long ride, he's currently working on reading his fourth book and we now belong to the local library!

A Week of Fun with Grandma Mel

We had such a great week with Grandma Mel and were sorry to see her leave! By the end of the week both girls had really bonded with her...especially Dagney, who woke up yesterday morning asking for "Granny Mel". Some of the week's highlights included a little barbecue, where Dagney got to play in her pool (a.k.a. the big blue bucket), celebrating Cole's second birthday at the Craft's house, a trip to Target where Dagney got two gifts that she absolutely loves: a Dora backpack and a magna-doodle board and lots of playtime together including Mel's indoctrination into the world of the Wiggles!

Cole turns 2

We got the opportunity to celebrate Cole's 2nd birthday and happiness and cake was had by all.

Granny Mel and Dagney

Here Dagney just gave Mel a butterfly kiss, something she learned how to do from cousin Madeline and Sophie.

Backpack, Backpack!

Here Dagney shows off her new Dora backpack, a gift from her Granny Mel who has been visiting with us from Washington State since Tuesday!

Lillian Frances at 30 weeks

Weighing in at about 4 pounds, Baby Lily enjoys moving around while Mommy is trying to sleep, kicking ribs and (as seen here in this picture) sucking her hand. We plan on celebrating her birth day via c-section on Tuesday, October 6, unless, of course, she has other plans!

Dagney's Room Gets a Makeover!

Dagney was so excited today when she got to help turn her room into a real "big girl" room complete with matching rug, comforter, pillow and nightlight. She loved putting the flowers and butterflies on the walls with her cousin Lauren and me. Dagney gave Ohma a big thank you for the beautiful gifts!

Climbing

Dagney loves to climb, but when she wanted to climb the rope ladder I was a bit reserved. After some hesitation I decided to let her go and, lo and behold, she had no problem!

Sandbox

Tonight I had a few minutes to take our daughters to the park. Queen Dagney made the executive decision that we were going to the sandbox first.

Daddy, Dagney and Recycling

Every Saturday Dagney and I have been going to the recycling center and I have been eager to blog our special time together.

We recycle plastic, glass, newspaper, magazines, oil, cardboard and motor oil.

Here you can see police man Bob and some of the county helpers.
