Budding Artist

Lauren and Ohma were over for two nights this past week. I was able to enjoy some time away from home while I got my hair cut and went out for breakfast with Kara before leisurely shopping at Walmart without the stress of a child in tow! It was just what I needed after being virtually homebound the past few weeks with a newborn. I also got to spend time with my Godchild Lauren while we took Dagney for walks together. Lauren is so wonderful with Dagney...she spent so much time with her playing games like Hide and Seek as well as helping feed and look after her. Dagney, Paige and I only wish she lived closer so she could hang out more! It didn't take too much convincing to get Ohma and Lauren to commit to coming up for another sleepover this week, too...we all had so much fun.

Lauren helped Dagney work on a picture for Daddy.

Could she be a southpaw like him?

....maybe not.....

Check out these baby blues (and some evidence of crayon taste-testing around the mouth)!

Special Request

Paige and Dagney's big cousin Lauren is coming over tomorrow night with Ohma for a sleepover and we are so excited! Dagney is hoping to play in the pool with her and, well, Paige is probably going to sleep the whole time. In the meantime, Lauren asked for a blog update to see what her little cousin Dagney has been up to. I took these pictures a couple of nights ago during Daddy and Dagney's playtime.

Happy Daddy's Day (and Birthday!)

Today we celebrated Josh's Birthday and Father's Day with some Coronas, baby back ribs and a chocolate cake made by his mom Connie. She has been visiting since Wednesday to help me with the babies while Josh started a new job this past week. We all had such a great time...Dagney enjoyed daily walks with Grandma and Paige got lots of snuggles. Both girls got downright spoiled! We were all sad to see her go and are definitely going to miss her until we see her again in August.

"Dagney Pool, Pool Dagney"

Now that she is one year old, we introduced Dagney to her new pool this weekend. At first Dagney was a little hesitant, being outside and next to this new inflatable pool of water. She slowly warmed up to the pool and before the thunderstorms rolled in, she was having a blast, splashing and splashing and splashing.

Ohma has been over for two weeks helping us with Dagney while I was still in the hospital so that Josh could visit, helping me at home as I recover and, of course, helping with Paige and eating up each moment with her. Ohma is awesome!!

We truly feel blessed. A heartfelt thank you to all our friends and family who have sent cards, gifts and well-wishes to our family.

Coach Melissa Aldrich Shelton

Dagney insisted we make a 'shoutout' to Coach Melissa Aldrich Shelton, the Women's Volleyball Coach at William & Mary for commenting on our blog. Thanks Coach Shelton for reaching out and making our day today.

However, Daddy had to explain to Dagney William & Mary is the most prestigious college in the whole wide World and William & Mary only takes the smartest kids in the whole wide World. So Dagney reluctantly sat down determined to make it through her book, Moo, Baa, La-La-La.

The cow says "Moo".

"No, no you say, that's not right."

After the book Dagney said, "Being smart is going to be a lot harder than I thought."

You walk like Daddy after two beers!

Low and behold, look who is walking? Well, she has been walking off and on for a little over two weeks but today we felt like blogging it to make it 'official'. We captured this little clip as Dagney stole Daddy's piece of watermelon and tried to make a break for the family room.

PS - After spending 6 hours on my friends Mac trying to create this 13 second video, I opted to just go buy some PC software and download, convert, edit, upload and blog this video in about 30 minutes. Thank god for PCs.
